Description

Our Furneaux has been made using special techniques developed by King Island Dairy’s cheesemakers to create an ultra-smooth textured cheese. Compared to traditional double cream brie cheeses, our Furneaux is lighter and has a smoother, oozing centre.​​

Furneaux has a delicate white mould rind and when ripe reveals a lustrous, pale and creamy oozing centre. Its flavour is enticing with barnyard notes, tasting of sweet milk and fresh hay. ​

We gave this cheese a French name to reflect its French origins – it’s named after Captain Tobias Furneaux, who accompanied James Cook on his expeditions around Tasmania.​

Internationally award-winning, in 2024 our Furneaux was awarded 3rd place in the global Brie category at the World Champion Cheese Contest.
